Civil War Violin & Case (#410.14)       Civil War Violin & Case – entirely homemade, this is very small. The case is only 19 ¾” long, while the violin is just 17” long. It is made for 4 strings, but one is missing along with the wood carved tightening screw (easily replaced). Made entirely of pine the body of the violin has 2 old repairs to it. This Fiddle is strictly country and in need of a bit of T.L.C. to restore it to use. The case is painted black and lined with brown paper. The paint and hardware are original. Small enough for a soldier to manage to keep with him, it is a great example of a camp instrument (either army).
